While growing up in Mumbai, we had a lot of street dogs around us and were told by our parents to stay away from them. As a child I was scared of dogs but always remembered a TVC where a pug followed his master everywhere and they shared this amazing bond. I slowly started petting a neighbour’s dogs and dreamed of having my own one day. My husband really loved dogs and always wanted one, so when we were ready, we visited a litter of pug puppies and the biggest guy chose us. During this time I had just finished my Bachelors from Fashion Institute of Technology and was looking for work. I landed a job within a week of Ari's arrival and felt that he brought me good luck. It just made me sad that I had to leave him when I left for work each day. Although I had over 10 years of experience in the fashion industry in Mumbai, it was a challenge to find a job in NYC that I actually enjoyed. This was mostly due to visa constraints and lack of work experience in USA.
Finally now I do what I love and that is being a content creator for my own business Honey I Dressed The Pug and running my own pet accessories brand Ari & M. I am better know as Ari's twinning other, and we are the boho styling duo for fashion-savvy pet owners. I love working from home because Ari is always around. His presence is a huge comfort and stress reliever for me. A little cuddle with Ari helps a lot and I just can’t imagine a life without my furry friend now. My life has been divided into pre-Ari and post-Ari phases and I can easily say that post-Ari phase is definitely one of the best phases of my life. He has actually helped me determine a career direction, he is my muse and a huge inspiration in my life. Life just feels complete and amazing now with a fur-baby by my side. Dogs are truly the best!
